Mercy Medical Center
Mercy Medical Center is a 387-bed, not for profit Medical Center and level II trauma center serving the healthcare needs of residents of Nassau County and the surrounding area. Mercy is sponsored by the Diocese of Rockville Centre, and is one of five acute-care hospitals within Catholic Health Services of Long Island.
Founded in 1913 by the Sisters of the Congregation of the Infant Jesus, Mercy is licensed by the New York State Department of Health and has consistently received Accreditation with Commendation from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, a national accrediting body. Among the disciplines for which Mercy is best known are maternal and child health; oncology; physical medicine and rehabilitation; orthopedics and behavioral health services. Mercy’s dedicated attending medical staff consists of over 700 physicians and employs over 1,800 people.
