Lawrence Hospital Center

Located in the town of Bronxville in Westchester County, Lawrence Hospital is a 280-bed, not-forprofit community hospital. The hospital provides comprehensive inpatient services as well as ambulatory surgery and emergency services. Outpatient services include The Lawrence Hospital Center for Rehab & Sports Medicine. Lawrence also operates the Home Nursing Association of Westchester County, a certified home health agency and home-based hospice serving Westchester County residents.

The Hospital’s primary service area includes the towns/cities of Bronxville, Mount Vernon and Yonkers in Westchester. Lawrence also serves a significant number of cases originating in the northern section of the Bronx.

Lawrence Hospital serves approximately 7% of total inpatient discharges in Westchester County, with market shares exceeding 45% in certain regions of its primary service area. In 2002, Lawrence discharged a total of 11,323 patients. Outpatient clinic visit and ambulatory surgeries totaled 102,036 and 6,014, respectively. Emergency room volume at the Hospital exceeded 30,000 visits.

Lawrence became an affiliate member of the New York-Presbyterian Healthcare System in 2001. The Hospital is also a participant in the Stellaris Health Network of Westchester County, with System members White Plains Hospital Center and Northern Westchester Hospital Center. Past and current System activity includes:
Teleradiology service provided by New York-Presbyterian Hospital – Columbia Presbyterian Center.

Lawrence Hospital is an academic affiliate of the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and has been a site for medical student education in physical diagnosis.
